Our house is a 105 year old craftsman with almost no renovation so all the interior doors, of which there were many, were original and covered with 100 years of paint. I tried everything to remove the paint myself but I ended up giving in and having them professionally stripped. It was quite the journey and learning experience.

Once I got them to their original wood, I knew I wanted hardware that fit their historical time period, which was 1920’s craftsman. I am so happy to have found Nostalgic Warehouse.

I found the perfect knobs and back plate (New York long plate with New York knob in the Unlacquered Brass finish) that were almost identical to what the house had originally. So I didn’t have to compromise any vintage charm or quality. I really feel like they made my door journey worth it.

These are the mortise versions because I really wanted the skeleton key. They are fully functional so they can be locked which adds to the ‘old school’ feeling of having these vintage knobs AND it means I get to add cute tassels.

Over time the unlaquered brass will develop a really beautiful patina which I’m very excited about and the weight and quality of Nostalgic Warehouse’s hardware is obvious the moment you put your hands on it. I love them so much!
